Minlaton Walking Trail
About Us
Minlaton Walking Trail starts at Yorke Peninsula Visitor Information Centre and heads north along the Main Street to the H J Cook Fauna Park, which contains emus, wallabies and kangaroos. From there the trail meanders past the basketball courts, through bush and along the edge of the golf course. Along the walk there are interpretive signs regarding the river red gums - Minlaton is the only area on the southern Yorke Peninsula where these trees grow naturally. There are also signs about the early settlement of the area, which was known as Gum Flat. There are two options to finish the walk - follow the trail through the She-oak Grove and continue back to the visitor centre. The alternative finish takes you through to the Bird Hide and then along the Main Street past the Minlaton Town Hall finishing at the visitor centre.
