About Us

Blue Mountains artist Tom Coley sculpted and donated his black granite Peace Memorial to the town of Katoomba in 2008. It's believed to be Australia's first public peace memorial, and is located at Civic Place, just across the highway from the Gearin Hotel and train station. The sculpture sits in the quiet Civic Place gardens, and viewers are welcome to touch the sculpture and feel the hand-ground and polished texture variations. A lovely place for art enthusiasts to visit, and a nice relief from the busy Katoomba town centre.
