Corowa is steeped in history, playing a significant role in the 1901 Federation of Australia. The Corowa History Trail is a self-guided walking tour around the historic buildings within Corowa. Interpretive story boards tell the story of the Birthplace of Federation. Find the building that housed the Peoples Conference where the decision was made to propose that Australia become a Federation. A self-guided historical map is available from the Corowa Visitor Information Centre and gives you the history of the beautiful old buildings in the town and their significance to The Federation Story, with a detailed map pointing out the historic buildings and sites.
