The Bionic Ear Institute
About Us
The Bionic Ear Institute is a not for profit organisation dedicated to medical research which will enhance the lives of thousands of people. The Institute is home to some of Australia?s finest scientists and research staff. It was established in 1986, and is an independent, not-for-profit, medical research organisation. The Institute has built on its proven success with the Bionic Ear and applied this knowledge to other areas of medical bionics. In addition to restoring hearing to the profoundly deaf, the Institute aims to liberate people from a wide range of physical disabilities and diseases through the science of medical bionics. Our research projects include brain implants to monitor, diagnose and treat a range of illnesses such as Epilepsy, Parkinson's and spinal cord injury, the development of a Bionic Eye, high-fidelity Bionic Ears to allow the deaf to better enjoy music and a targeted drug delivery system. Your support for The Bionic Ear Institute will help our researchers continue their exciting medical bionics research that will one day make a difference to many people world-wide.
