Dr Raewyn Teirney

About Us

Dr Raewyn Teirney has been working in Gynaecology and Infertility for more than 15 years. As a FRANZCOG fertility specialist she has helped countless couples achieve their dream of a baby. She is renowned for her caring approach and the time she spends with patients to discuss all options. With a focus on fertility issues affecting women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis and fibroids, Dr Teirney is determined to empower women and couples on their fertility journey recognising the sense of frustration many experience in trying to start a family. Dr Teirney practices all aspects of infertility, however her special research and clinical interest in PCOS is paramount, having published many papers on this topic. She now lectures and trains subspecialists of the future on this condition and maintains a Visiting Medical Officer fertility subspecialist role at the Royal Hospital for Women in Sydney Dr Teirney studied at Auckland University before taking her Masters of Medicine in Reproductive Health and Human Genetics at The University of Sydney. On completing her obstetric and gynaecology training in Sydney, Raewyn continued further sub-speciality training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility as a clinical lecturer at Cambridge University and Bourn Hall IVF Centre in England - one of the world's leading centres of IVF research and clinical excellence. She obtained her Certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) in 2002. Dr Teirney's experience in laparoscopic surgery complements her busy fertility practice. Dr Teirney also maintains a special interest in helping same sex couples and single women create a family through IVFAustralia's donor program. As a female fertility specialist, she is highly regarded by patients for her ability to explain sophisticated medical science in ways in which everyone understands.
