Dr Jeffrey Persson's patients benefit from his extensive expertise, with over 20 years' experience as a fertility specialist. He is the Clinical Director at IVFAustralia's City clinic and believes genetics and endocrinology are the cornerstones of fertility treatment. He is also one of the few reproductive endocrinologists in Australia who can help men with azoospermia (zero sperm count), using the most sophisticated microscopic sperm extraction procedures. Dr Persson is also one of Sydney's leading experts in vasectomy reversal. His attention to detail is second to none, and he often receives referrals for complex cases as he can apply his specialist expertise to develop the best approach to treatment. With research interests in genetics and male infertility, he is excited about the potential of our new Advanced Embryo Selection for chromosome analysis, and Digital High Magnification to assist with male infertility issues. Working with Urologist Dr David Golovsky in our City clinic, he has established a centre of excellence for male infertility. Dr Persson trained and worked in Amsterdam before obtaining his Masters of Reproductive Medicine. In 1995, he received his Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and his Certificate in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) with his thesis, 'Genetic aspects of reproductive failure'. He lectures at Sydney University, is actively involved in clinical research, and has published on the genetic aspects of infertility.
