About Us

The Claude Road Market is a country market near Sheffield, north west Tasmania. Sheffield is 30 minutes south of Devonport and about 60 minutes west of Launceston. The Market is in the Claude Road Memorial Hall which is approximately 8 kilometres outside Sheffield on the road to the picturesque Cradle Mountain. Every three months (March, June, September and December) on the third Saturday of the month, the Hall fills with stallholders and treasure hunters. Here you can find a broad range of crafts inside the hall and an even wider range of merchandise on sale at the outside stalls. A highlight of the market is the wonderful food on offer in the supper room. There is a huge variety of treats available, plus substantial meals and snacks, all at very affordable prices. Come to shop and stay for lunch - you won't be disappointed. The Claude Road Market is open from 9am until 2pm. Sheffield is known internationally for its collection of public murals, which depict the area's rich history. Claude Road Hall shares this attraction, featuring on its outer wall a wonderful mural depicting local personalities and painted by local mural artists Patricia Kirkcaldy and Nadia Mitchell-Mineur.
