About Us

A stilt house which elevates you to the tree tops, Khan Cottage enjoys a spectacular outlook. Despite the faraway feel, Berry is only a five-minute drive away. Wake to the sound of birdsong. Laze in the hammock and enjoy the view from the wraparound deck. You’ll hear the racing creek after rainfall and the call of kookaburras, whip birds and cockatoos. A mown path leads to this rainforest creek. For a more strenuous walk, guests can access a public track up the escarpment to a waterfall. Khan Cottage's owners are committed to restoring the Illawarra Subtropical Rainforest which once covered the property. This endeavour is recognised by Federal and Local Government grants and its 53 hectares are protected by a Registered Property Agreement. Accommodation includes two bedrooms, both supplied with quality linen and towels. For winter stays there is a roaring wood-burning stove. The owners do not live on the property, making Khan Cottage a very private and peaceful retreat for up to four people. Berry offers restaurants and cafes, a supermarket and speciality food shops. Close by, there are wineries and beautiful beaches. An hour away lie the white sands (and kangaroos) of Jervis Bay National Park.
