Montacute Boutique Bunkhouse is Tasmania's first and only boutique hostel. Housed in a beautifully renovated 1895 mansion, Montacute offers private double rooms and shared bunkrooms. To ensure a good night's sleep, especially if staying in a shared bunkroom, all beds have excellent quality mattresses, crisp cotton sheets, warm woollen duvet/doonas, 100% Tasmanian superfine merino wool blankets, reading lamp, power point and towel. Montacute also has many communal areas: a large kitchen, sitting room, lounge halls with sofas, dining room, barbecue deck, balconies with mountain views, large garden, coin-operated laundry and a large private carpark. Located in the heart of Hobart's historic village of Battery Point, Montacute is just a five-minute walk from the restaurants, cafes, bars, and galleries of the Salamanca waterfront precinct, including Hobart's famous Salamanca Market. Also within a five-minute walk is a supermarket, post office, cash machine, barber, hairdresser and pharmacy. If visiting Hobart for a festival, Montacute is just a five-minute walk from main festival site of the Taste of Tasmania (January), MONA FOMA (January), Wooden Boat Festival (February), Dark MOFO (June), Festival of Voices (July), Tasmanian Microbrew Fest (September), and Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race (December).
