Leconfield 11 Day Jillaroo and Jackaroo School
About Us
Leconfield is a property of 4600 acres in the hillside country on the Mulla Creek area of Northern NSW. This property has been in the Skerrett family for 100 years as of May 2014. In 1983 Brian started the Jillaroo/Jackaroo school, the first of its kind in Australia. Since then, thousands of people have come to the school. It gives Australians and visitors from overseas a chance to learn how to become a Jillaroo/Jackaroo (Cowboy/Cowgirl) and the experience of life on an outback station. The aim is to provide basic training for people with minimal or no experience, so that their employment prospects are increased. Leconfield is a working property and the skills and techniques will be explained/demonstrated, then carried out by trainees under supervision. By the end trainees should be able to carry out routine/basic tasks with minimal supervision.
