The Adelaide Guitar Festival (AGF) (formerly the Adelaide International Guitar Festival) is a four-day biennial festival, curated by internationally renowned Australian guitarist, Slava Grigoryan. Unbound by genre and acclaimed for its outstanding quality, its concerts span rock, jazz, folk, classical, experimental, blues and roots music. Adelaide Guitar Festival has continued to build on previous programs and expand in to new territory. In addition to the main event (9 – 12 August, 2018), the Adelaide Guitar Festival presents: Guitars In Bars, 13–29 July 2018 – an open-access program celebrating the Adelaide music scene Adelaide Guitar Festival Winter School, 16–20 July 2018 – invites guitarists to participate in a week of intensive, immersive classical guitar playing and skills development with highly respected national and international guitar teachers. Resonance, 28 July – 10 August 2018 – Understanding how music can play a role in health, well-being, and recovery, the Resonance program will deliver outstanding musicians for intimate performances at hospitals, aged care facilities and community centres across metro and (outer metro or greater) Adelaide. Adelaide International Classical Guitar Competition – The most prestigious guitar competition in the southern hemisphere with emerging guitarists from around the world playing for $32, 000 worth of prizes.
